Farewell summer

It’s been awhile since I’ve updated all y’all on the happenings here at the ranch. As usual, we weaned cattle the Tuesday following Labor Day. We had a good crew helping and the day went off without a hitch. Tad rushed home from his first week of school to help run ’em through the chute and to make sure the guys didn’t rig the results for this year’s “beer” calf. Needless to say, Tad triumphed again. And so the office fridge is once again stockpiled with cans of rootbeer and gatorade.

We concluded our summer with two wonderful tour groups who visited just weeks after we’d weaned the calves. A group of close to 60 sales representative from Accelerated Genetics stopped in on the 14th and were followed up by a group of about 60 cattlemen and women participating in the MHA Hereford Tour. We always enjoy showing our cattle to Hereford enthusiasts and cattlemen alike. Below are a few photos I snapped of those on the MHA tour.
