It’s spring in Montana…

and the gophers are out!
Katie and I have reached the conclusion that we have the two most “emotionally draining” jobs on the ranch – spraying weeds, and eliminating gophers.  ; )  I keep envisioning the day I drive through our fields and am unable to spot a single thistle (Bull, Canadian, or other) or pesky gopher. This year we stepped up our game and purchased a PERC Rodent Control System. So far it seems to be working quite well. We’ve hit two pivots hard and only have approximately 4,000 acres to go. Talk about job security! Lucky for us, Father Gilbaugh enjoys bouncing across the Cook Pivot on Thursday afternoons. I’d like to think he’s a sharpshooter, but the population out there would suggest otherwise.

Father G and Dad, out for a joyride and some gopher shootin’  ; )
