Spring has sprung

Its seems as though spring arrived early this year. The lilacs are beginning to bud and the apple trees aren’t far behind. Not to mention, our friends the sandhill cranes have migrated back to our fields. 2016 breeding is “almost” behind us, and the guys will begin seeding spring wheat next week, weather pending. Word has it we are to receive showers the next several days, which will be a god send as many of our dry land pastures and crops are already beginning to show signs of stress. We hope you are all enjoying spring and all the beauty the season brings. Below is one of my favorite pictures of Grandpa Jack. This crane was a fixture on the ranch for many years, and would follow grandpa around on his daily walks.
